JAMAICA TOURISM BOARD (JTB), founded in 1955, is Jamaica’s national tourism agency based in the capital city of Kingston. The JTB was declared the Caribbean’s Leading Tourist Board by the World Travel Awards (WTA) from 2006 to 2014. Also in 2014, Jamaica earned the WTA’s vote for the Caribbean’s Leading Destination and Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Destination for the eighth consecutive year. Additionally, the Historic Falmouth Cruise Port was recognized as the Caribbean’s Leading Heritage Tour while Ocho Rios was named the Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Port and Sangster International Airport was voted the Caribbean’s Leading Airport. In Canada, Jamaica was voted the Favourite Honeymoon Destination by travel agents.
Mr. Lloyd Wilks

Mr. Wilks is a career diplomat with over 25 years of experience in the Jamaican Foreign Service. He was formerly the Director of the Diaspora and Consular Affairs Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and has been actively involved in Jamaica’s citizen diplomacy for several years.
During his career he also worked in the areas of protocol, foreign trade and international economic affairs, and has served overseas in various capacities at the Jamaican Consulate General, Toronto; Jamaican High Commission, London and the Jamaican Embassy, Havana.
Mr. Wilks holds a MSc. in International Business from the South Bank University in London; a MA in Diplomacy and International Relations from the University of Westminster, London; and a BSc. in Geography and the Social Sciences from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus. A former Major League footballer for the Bull Bay Football Club, Mr. Wilks enjoys farming, horseback riding, swimming, chess and dominoes.
